Äitienpäivä 2026

Olen ostanut jostain nipun tällaisia todella haastavan mallisia (ja kokoisia) kortteja ajatuksena käyttää niitä korttipohjina omissa töissäni.

I have bought a bundle of these quite challenging shaped (and sized) cards with the idea of using them as a card base for my own creations.

Nyt sain idean kokeilla näistä tummanpunaisilla reunoilla varustettuja yksilöitä, kun tarve oli suht nopeille ja simppeleille äitienpäiväkorteille (menevät lapsemme molemmille mummoille). Leikkasin korttipohjien alalaidan brändittömällä kaarevareunaisella tikkistanssilla. Kortin päätähtenä ja keskiössä on tyttären päiväkodissa maalaamasta ja tekemästä wappuhatusta talteen otettu kartonki, josta leikattu Nellie Snellenin stanssilla sydämenmuotoiset palaset. 

This time, I got the idea to try out the ones with dark red edges, as I needed relatively quick and simple Mother’s Day cards (they are for both of our child’s grandmothers). I trimmed the bottom edge of the card bases using an unbranded scalloped-edge stitching die. The main feature and focal point of the card is a card stock saved from a May Day (a Finnish festival) hat that my daughter painted and made at daycare, from which I cut heart-shaped pieces using a Nellie Snellen die.

Kortti nro 12/2026 - EI MYYNNISSÄ

Kirjaimet mummo- ja mummu-sanoihin leikkasin Tim Holtzin (Sizzix) chip block -aakkostanssilla. Kukkaset ovat saatuja, joten niistä ei tietoa, ovatko leikattu jollain stanssilla vai kuvioleikkurilla - mummo-kortin kukkaset olivat valmiiksi muotoiltuja (esim. lehtiruoti näkyy selkeästi) ja mummu-kortin "littanoita" kukkasia muotoilin hieman Fiskarin pallopäätyökalulla. Keskustoina kukissa erivärisiä puolihelmiä.

In Finnish, the words mummo and mummu are affectionate terms for grandma and granny. The letters for these words were cut using a Tim Holtz (Sizzix) chip block alphabet die. The flowers were gifted to me, so I’m not sure whether they were made with dies or punches - the flowers on the mummo card were already shaped (for example, the leaf veins are clearly visible), while I added a bit of dimension to the flat flowers on the mummu card using a Fiskars shaping tool. The flower centers were finished with half-back pearls in different colors.
